Characterization of soils

The Land Law defines the criteria by which a soil is classified as contaminated. One of the critical elements to this definition stems from the characterization of the terrestrial environment. For such characterization should define the number and location of sampling points, the sampling depths, the parameters to be analyzed and analytical protocols to follow to make it comparable with the generic reference levels defined rules.

Proper soil characterization will reveal the real problems of contamination and decontamination adjust treatment most appropriate, efficient and economically viable.
